No, you do not need a referral. You are welcome to self-refer and privately fund sessions. However, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP.

The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, talk through your reasons for seeking therapy, and explore what you'd like to get out of the process. You’ll be asked some background questions about your history, current concerns, and any goals you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away, the pace is always guided by you.

This depends on your individual goals and circumstances. Some clients attend short-term therapy for support with a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term work that allows for deeper exploration and change. This can be discussed at any stage and reviewed regularly together.

Yes. Secure and confidential Telehealth sessions are available for clients. Medicare rebates apply to eligible Telehealth sessions when you have a valid MHCP, EDTP, or EPC referral.

Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may incur the full session fee.

If you have extras cover that includes psychology, you may be eligible for a rebate. The amount will depend on your insurer and level of cover. Please contact your provider directly to check your eligibility.
